HELP! Stop work. Can't access members. Get "Class only available on Joomla 1.6"

Last night JomSocial worked fine. Today when I try to go into a new member's account (or any member, for that matter), I get this error:
Class only available on Joomla 1.6.

I did install the Joomla 3.8 update this morning. Not certain why that would interfere with JomSocial but I assume you should know that the update took place today. In terms of trying to fix this myself, I tried reinstalling the core JomSocial update. It changed nothing.
I REALLY need an immediate solution to this issue. I can't log in new members and we have a membership drive about to start -- today!!.
