Thanks, unfortunately my hosting (Bravenet) only has 5.6 as the latest option.

please try to using lower joomla version.
try to using 3.5.1 instead of 3.6

you can download it from:
github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/releases

and install it from joomla backend > extensions > install

but you need to backup your site first by using Akeeba Backup, or do it at your test site first.
