I get an error

Hi,

do you mean by using ijoomla installer? please download latest jomsocial package at jomsocial.com > my account.
unzip that file and install newest ijoomla installer, try to upgrade your jomsocial again from there.

if still cant, please using conventional way from joomla backend > manage > upload package file.
