ISSUE SUMMARY: As of two days ago, the 'upload file' button has disappeared from group discussions, irrespective of whether or not the 'allow uploads' checkbox is ticked. There have been no upgrades or modifications done to either the server, Joomla or JomSocial during this time that could account for the button to just stop displaying.
We are running J3.4.4 and JS4.1.1.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Create a group
2 Create a discussion & make sure that the 'allow uploads' checkbox is ticked
3 Create a new discussion
4 Attempt to upload a file (haha! Good luck ;) )
5
RESULT
There is no upload button, no matter what we seem to do.
EXPECTED RESULT
It is to be expected that an upload button would display, given that uploads were enabled in both the group, and the group discussion.
BROWSER
Take 'yer pick. Tried 'em all.
Hi,
Thank you for reporting, this is a valid bug..
cheers!
eh wait, this is not a bug, because fine on my localhost, anyway.. did you do some override template before?
No, there are no template overrides in place.
There is a css override in place, but that is only modifying the layout of embedded google forms, so I seriously doubt it'd be messing the file upload button up.

*bump*
We're getting some serious heat from our client now, as the missing upload button is causing some considerable inconvenience on their end.
It's been 5 days since I've had a reply, which I'm pretty sure is well outside the support agreement response time for paid-up pro-license users???
Hi Todd,
I am sorry for delay reply, I was off for 3 days yesterday, so I can debug your issue today..
Anyway, I cannot edit your file server, can you provide me access to modify it?
thank you
Hi Dimas,
Could you please let me know what error you're getting trying to ftp in to the server?
I've just tried it here again with the info provided in the OP and it's working.
Thanks!
Todd
Hi, just checked the FTP stuff and you're correct, there was a problem. Sorry about that!!!
You should have full access now. Could you please confirm?4
Thanks!
Todd
Hi Todd,
This issue caused by "Group File Upload Limit" on group setting, now I already fix this.
thank you
Hi Dimas,
First, let me say I hope you and yours had a happy holiday season and are enjoying the new year.
And second, please let me apologise for not marking this thread as completed! I honestly thought I'd done that, and had come back to resurrect it because...
The 'upload' button seems to have disappeared again. The 'Group File Upload Limit' is set to '0' (zero) in the groups admin, yet the upload button remains mysteriously missing.
Any chance you could have another look for us please?
Thank you!
Todd
