ISSUE SUMMARY:

Hi guys,

How do I auto group members on registration?

New registrants select which company (group) they belong to from a dropdown and I'd I'd like to automatically assign the registrant to the corresponding JomSocial group. Is that somehow possible?

By default we dont have this feature, but you can use the 3rd party plugin www.jomsocial.com/addons/core-enhancemen...jomsocial-auto-group

I'm sorry but this feature is not available out of the box.
There is a plugin that allows assign new registrants to a group or groups:
deeemm.com/store/product/30-jomsocial-auto-group
But it will not display dropdown list of available groups to choose on.
As I'm aware there is no such a plugin to handle this.

So you may consider to hire a developer to create plugin like that for you: www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
