ISSUE SUMMARY:
In the categories module of events, we need to display the events count in the respective category(next to category name)..But we couldn't get it .. How we can do that?

Hmm, you request a customization/hack/feature for older version of JomSocial...
In nev version group categories are in dropdown.

Well, there is way to display group counter next to category name.
You should create a template override with SQL query that will check and count how many groups are assigned to that category and echo group count.

I advise you to hire a professional developer who will made such a customization for you. As for now (when there are too many forum requests) customization requests are suspended.
