JomSocial Active Socialize Expired

I purchased the Socialize template for my JomSocial Joomla site today.

After purchase i discovered i need both a JomSocial upgrade (3.0) and a Joomla upgrade (3+), both upgrades not mentioned clearly until I read the actual documentation I recieved after purchase. So I have three questions.

Question 1: how much does a JomSocial Pro upgrade cost in addition to the 148 USD I spent?

Question 2: should it be written in the purchase page what criterias should be met?

Question 3: I never managed to login to the forum again after the JomSocial Pro purchase, is this because my support subscription expired - I actually need to have an active subscription to be able to read your support pages?

I feel all of the above is and have been very unclear, almost hidden. And now I feel I bought something I cannot use, and which I didn't know I couldn't use, until I downloaded the actual files.

What do I do?

Hi Trude,

Thank you for your inquiry. I've consulted our dev team and they have informed me that you do not need to upgrade your Joomla to 3.xx version, as it still supports Joomla 2.5.

To renew your JomSocial Pro's license, the price is $74.50 and this will extend your support subscription for another 6 months. You do need to have an active subscription before you can join some of our Forum board; for instance, the Technical Support forum. This is due to the fact that technical support is only available to active subscribers.

I've also checked your account and it appears that you do not have any JomSocial licenses attached to it. Would you be kind enough to provide me with your previous JomSocial purchase's information? What I do need is both the purchase email and the reference number/license number of your purchase. Should you want to provide it to me in a much more private channel, kindly send me a ticket via our billing ticket system here .

Ok, I can use the 2.5 Joomla, but I still need to purchase the new JomSocial? I did not see this specified when purchasing the Socialize template?

Hi Trude,

Thank you for your inquiry. I've helped you to link your old purchase into your current account. You should be able to renew your license. You don't really need to purchase a new JomSocial, all you have to do is to renew your JomSocial license and you should be able to download the latest JomSocial. We're currently on JomSocial 3.1 and I believe your JomSocial is somewhere around JomSocial 2.8. I believe that any new components will requires you to have at least the latest major versions.

The price for renewal is discounted at 50% off from the original price; which makes your renewal's price is only $74.50.

I still think it would be appropriate if this criteria was specified somwhere in the Socialize purchase area, as we would not have bought the template yet if we knew about the extra cost. We were not given the chance to concider the actual cost, and I would like to urge you to add this information as soon as possible. I hope you agree.

Apart from this it looks like a beautiful template, and we are looking forward to implementing it. Hope all goes smoothly ;)
