Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Hey,
I installed a flat joomla 3.3.3 with some extensions (yootheme, akeeba) and then I tried to install JomSocial.
But this hangs always at the same step. Please see screenshot.
The same happend to an other testing site. On this site I had an old JomSocial version installed and made a step by step upgrade. All steps worked fine except the last update step from 3.1 to 3.2 version of JomSocial.
For me there is a bug in the unpacking routine after installing the extension.
Please check and clarify.
Before using the extension on production environment I am testing it on a test site.
In console I can see a 500 error:

Please, contact with your hosting provider and ask for assistance in this issue... he may also provide server error logs.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
I do not get an 500 Error.
In this case I would have contacted my provider instead of contacting you. So I did now ;-)
With which browser did you get the error?
firefox and chrome did not show in my case the error.
I use Chrome... a Linux equivalent of Chrome, to be specific.
I posted a printscreen, where you can see my browser name and error console with error I talked about.
I tested your site in order to find a cause of issue... and just like you said, it sucked on unpacking frontend files.. with 500 error.
Just ask your provider for assistance or to share error logs.
