yes.. every time after update the changes will gone. Because library doesn't have override method.
because that I suggest you to contact your server support to make sure about those functions.

I tried now also to link some youtube videos and if I put video in post I get some youtube icon and not real video thumbnail, but if I link video through "Add Video" option it has good thumbnail.

They just replied and said that both functions are active.

about fetching https web content. not all https page can be fetched for the images.
e.g: google.com or youbute.com it can. but for youtube video page it can't because the https respond from fetching request not bring any images. This things we can't do much about it.

I installed 3.2.1.3 version and still having problem, by applying your fix (curl.php) now it doesn't won't to even fetch links.

Using original curl.php it fetches link but without thumbnail.
