Private group events are public

Hi, Mads.

Please, make safe copies of those files:

components/com_community/models/events.php
components/com_community/models/groups.php
components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/notification.event.invitations.php
components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/notification.group.invitations.php
components/com_community/views/events/view.html.php

Then upload content of the package into Joomla! main folder on your server. Make sure that group is closed and marked as "hide on group list".


- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

So hidden groups have hidden events but closed groups have public events, is that it?
I would prefer to hide closed group events as well, as they are only meant for group members. How is that possible?

Closed groups are public groups but closed for new members as they require invitation.
Hidden groups are private groups and only in this case content will be hidden.
If you want to change the way events from closed groups are displayed - you'll need to customize the code on your own.
