JS 4.5 Still no delete button, no timestamp and photos disappear in chat .......

Hi,

I just went 4.5 but there is still no delete button, no timestamp and photos disappear in chat.

What is wrong with my site?
Ore have you still not fixed that?
If not, when will you fix it?

Originally we planned to add these improvements to JomSocial 4.4, but after numerous hours spent on manual and automated testing on big volume websites the results were not good as we expected. The database update was necessary to eliminate the bottlenecks in the system.
Due the JomSocial upgrade implementation, it was needed to bump the version number as database to support invitation request and chatbar is not the same as one found in version 4.4.

So those improvements are still in progress.

I know that it was promised few versions ago... but development is a live process and recent improvements ware important and requested by many users. Nevertheless we remember about improvements you are waiting for. They will come soon. I just sent a message to our developers to release them ASAP.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

I talked with Project Manager. The good news is that there is a "delete" chat option :)
You can't really delete chat - you may leave it.
Click on cog icon in chat and then "leave chat" option. This will remove chat from the list at left :)

Hi Michal,

Thanks but.
Well, in my site that's working IF you are on a chat with more then ONE member.
If you have a chat one to one you can't leave the chat.

Maybe something is wrong on my site but that is how we get it.

Hi,

In my test of the chat I also found a bugg.
Even if the chat is only between 3 member there are more member that "have seen it", se photo.

In the chat we get "photo thumbnail" even if there is no photos.

Thank you. I tested on your site leaving chat when one to one... and it works... I could even leave old chats that seems to be broken.
Nevertheless this require site reload. I tested on Opera. But generally it works.

I was able to replicate issue with "photo thumbnail" in chat: prntscr.com/h4pcrq

I can't replicate issues with viewed by and disappearing images. They seems to be your site specific issues. I assign developer to investigate this.
I hope we could fix those image issues once for all as I recall that you're reporting it for some time now.

For photo issue, please you open this file components/com_community/libraries/cron.php
and remove this code

$this->_removeTempPhotos();

Hi Michal,

YES!
Now it works to leave chat on almost all devices.
I still have problem with my iPhone 7 plus with IOS 11.1.
I just updated and I have restarted my iPhone but nothing happened when I press the "leave chat" button.



But on my iPad Pro 10,5 with IOS 11.1 it works.

I don´t know if it´s something wrong with my iPhone ore IOS 11.1 but I will test later today when I get my new iPhone X.

Now it seams that the photos stay in chat!

However I don´t know if the problem with the "photo thumbnail" even if there wasn't any photo in the chat is ok.
I will keep a eye on it today.

"photo thumbnail" is a bug and it was reported. We need to wait for developers fix.
