Hi, Thomas.
Please, edit your first post here and provide PHPmyAdmin credentials.
Hi, Tomas.
You're right, db credentials are fine.
User ID is: 52709
There are few related messages in deb parent 321150 (that is to seen your printscreen) and 325355 (this is test message).
325327 seems to be a new message (not seen on printscreen)
322868 was deleted.
321352 was deleted.
325081 also not visible on printscreen (probably new one as send few days ago).
And that's it, no other messages are stored in current database.
Do you have backup copy made before upgrade?
I don't understand why you say there are no other messages!...?
In the database: running SELECT * FROM `kiyp3_community_msg` WHERE `from` = 52709 gives me 152 items. (see attached db_from_user)
I have a custom made function to display messages from a user. It is in the index of joomla admin. (see attached msg_screenshot). If you enter the userID here you will get a long list of messages to and from this user.
I returned the users password so if you want to log in as the user you will need to set a new temporary pass in the Users area for this user. I have saved the users encrypted hash so I can set it back. Since I don't know the actual password.
Hi, Tomas.
I'm sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough. When I said "no other messages" I meant no PARENT messages.
Messages in inbox are stored as forum threads. initial message become a "topic" and all answers become "posts".
So i was referencing to parent column. There you could see only 6 parent messages (2 of them ware deleted what give us only 4 active messages/topics). Most of those 152 records apply to parent message (a topic) 321150 (exactly 146) then
So it may be that relations are wrong (some messages that are related with parent 321150 should be related with other parent message)... or old records ware dropped from db.
Do you have older copy to compare?
Ok I see. So the messages are mostly related to the parent 321150, which is from her friend Sandra.
But.. Should she not be able to see the parent message in her inbox?
There is a record with the parent ID in both msg tables. What else would need to be in place for the message to be shown in her inbox?
Sandra/BrokenAnqel (46945) Katja/Ginger (52709)
I only have backup 14 days back, and I did the jomsocial upgrade on march 29. So no backup database to compare... I can check the oldest one I have for differences, but I'm not sure what to look for.
Hi, Tomas.
As I can see from printscreen, there is a parent message in inbox: BrokenAngel with title RE: Hej. Could you check if it contains all those 146 messages?
To compare you need to check if in older db are more messages to user with ID 52709. The difference between number of messages in both tables should be the number of messages lost... if any. It may be that messages get wrong parent... but that's just my guess.
That message is not the parent message.. it would have the content: {"content":"Hej. Har lige læst dit opslag. Har du brug for at skrive? (:"}
And no "RE" in the title.
Nothing happens when I click "show previous messages".
I tried changing to default template - no difference.
you can log in now as Ginger / testkode1 to test. I just set the password for the user.
In the other thread with Admin user, I can see all the messages. Parent: 325355
the relations are identical to the messages that are being hidden..
The parent message is there in both tables
kiyp3_community_msg_recepient and kiyp3_community_msg, Only difference is that the ip is not registered, and of course the ID's are different.
Even the 2 new messages I added to the "missing" thread are hidden!...
Hi, Tomas.
I can't login:

Could you check how it looks in Sandra's inbox?
Is this issue also present there?
