JOMSMOCIAL BLAH WITHOUT SOCIALISE AND THE NEWLY INTRODUCED TOOLBAR DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE INCLUDED TOOLBAR WITH SOCIALISE. I feel somewhat hoodwinked into believing the new toolbar would be a vast improvement on the standard Socialise toolbar. I was wrong! Firstly one cannot add a site logo to the bar, although it is clearly designed to reside topmost position on a site. Nor does the... Show more

HI again JS people, I recently introduced a dedicated JomSocial app for android and has been available to download and test right here on the JomSocial Community.
The app is designed to focus on both the community and direct access to the JomSocial support system from within one convenient app. It's fast and reliable due to it's own custom internal secure socket SSL compliant browser. Because it's...

Well the android app has been available FREE to download and use for around a month now. My simple monitoring indicates the app was clicked on 21 times in total. If you have downloaded and are using this free app, please leave some comments on this groups discussion. Perhaps about functionality and device compatibility.

There seems to be a method of importing groups from another JomSocial instance, however can someone tell me how I can export groups and other content from one to another. I tried to use the export/import user option, but seems to fail every attempt. error reports incorrect file format. Yet it is the very file that Jomsocial component saved! - feeling confused

Sinisa Krisan Hi Zurkster

Heres the doc that explains how to import users and why you can't use raw exported file.

I have an important question, I purchased the JS Toolbar as a standalone toolbar, hoping that it would offer more flexibility over the Socialise v2 toolbar. Zurkster This is more than just a bug (for which I am aware) this has to do with the lack of timely updates for the Socialise template and it's accompanying toolbar. It seems remarkably like efforts have been geared toward launching a separate toolbar rather than updating the current one, which is also remarkably similar in features all bar the ability to add links, but no site logo as one can with the... I just purchased the JS Toolbar in the hope of resolving the mobile device login issue with the Socialise toolbar. However after installing I noticed that the JS Toolbar will not display at all on my Samsung Galaxy S6 or Sony Z3 Tablet regardless of which browsers I use.

JS Active
Zurkster This is NOT something I want debugged, the new standalone tool bar will ONLY display the users registered real name despite any existing JomSocial and/or Joomla settings which have been set to display user name only! I have a mini feature request. I'm using AUP pro for new user registrations by referral, however if a user is not referred by another member, I'd like to be able to dictate what user id can be set as the default (non-referred) registrations ie; when they click on the Register button without having been referred. - feature request

JS Active
Zurkster As you can see by the screenshot below, the AlphaUserPoints awards system (integrated with JomSocial) has a members referral link. This link feature allows a member to paste the URL any other website thus creating an open referral system for each member. The JomSocial component (as far as I can see) doesn't offer any such referral method. AlphaUserPoints does. So it would make sense to me to... Show more 3 weeks ago

So basically a way to invite someone by sending them the link directly via means other than invite feature itself.
Like i send you the link on a Skype and you click on it to register right?

That is a bit tricky in JomSocial's case as we generate the links dynamically using the data provided.
For example, when new member accept the invitation from JomSocial's system he is kinda forced to...

Sinisa Krisan I am not really sure why are you constantly bringing the fact that something is built into third-party component we have no control over whatsoever. The sole reason that specific third-party extension is integrated with JomSocial makes absolutely no difference.

The lack of permission access the menu item is usually the sign of missconfigured navigation system.
We tried to outline some common scenarios here documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Toolbar_Explained

In short, you should disable SEF on your site, see what is the menu item ID assigned to that page and try to debug the permissions on the menu item itself.

That's a nice observation but there is one simple answer to that question.

Bells and whistles of CSS3 like corner radius, box shadow, gradients etc... they massively slow down the page rendering.
