Hello!
When I start a new chat, the message field is located outside the bottom of the page so I have to scroll down to see it. Can you get the message field higher up on the page?

The height is auto and depends on the page size. because the size of header is bigger on your site the page height is long
Open template folder /css/template.css file and add this code at the end of file

@media(min-width :768px){
.joms-js--chat-conversation-messages {max-height: 300px; }}

Thank you for your quick response, but I still have issues with the message field. When I click the "New message" button, the message field is shown outside the screen and I have to scroll down to find it.

This is not the problem, the header height is login on your site that makes the page height longer, if you will set the max height for the box, like in the previous post I shared the code. You can decrease the value of height to minimize the height.
The same code will work for this too.
However, it not good to decrease more height as u have images in the message and long conversation, it will difficult for the user to see them in a small box.
