JomSocial Active

Good day,

I would like to know how to do the following:
1. Change the HelloMe welcome from "Hello FirstName LastName", to "Hello FirstName" (Like how it it done on this JomSocial site: Is there a property in JomSocial that can be turned on/off to do this? Or is it that it has to be a code modification, and if so what is it?

2. I would like to have the community brand name/title visible at all times.: After setting the Frontpage Title under Configuration > Site, I do not see the title anywhere but in the web browser tab title which says for e.g. "Welcome to [title]". Even setting the Page Header through Joomla's menu system does not render any output on community pages. What I would like to get the is the title shown as a Page Header above all JomSocial community pages. How can this be achieved?

Thanks

HI, Katrine.

Thank you for contacting us.

1. JomSocial uses values that user provided during registration. Joomla! do not have "First Name", "Last Name" fields but only "User Name" and "Login". So probably your JomSocial is set to display "User Names" (aka "Real Name") and your users provide "First Name", "Last Name" as "User Name". In this case you can't display only part of "User Name". You may only change to do display "Login" in Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Configuration -> Layout -> Display Name.

2. Page title is placed in each html page in <head> section as <title>. This WON'T display page title anywhere else. Displaying it in page content will require customize your current template. I'm sorry but this is not related with JomSocial so I can't provide you a complete method how to achieve this.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
