Kunena not working after new jomsocial update

Hi, After I updated to newer version of jomsocial, Guru and Kunena stopped working. both show HTTP ERROR 500.
Please check this at priority basis.

Error 500 indicates server errors. Please, check your server error log.
Upgrading JomSocial should have no influence on any other extensions.


- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

I tested now by unpublishing jomsocial. When I unpublish jomsocial both Guru and Kunena are working fine. When I published jomsocial again both the components show Error. So I think its something to do with jomsocial.
Please check it.

Hi I uninstalled jomsocial 4.4 and installed 4.3 version. My site is working fine now. So I am sure there is a bug in 4.4 that is not compatible with Guru and Kunena.

I have on my test site Guru and JS 4.4... and everything is working fine:

That is why I asked you to check server error log. Maybe we could find answer there?

Hi Michal,
I have the same problem. Get error message:

"Bemærkning
FEJL: plg_jomsocial_kunenagroups: Kunena 2.0 (eller senere) er ikke installeret på dit system!!!"

It's Danish and saying that plg_jomsocial-kuneagroups and Kunena 2.0 (or later) isn't install on your system.

And it is. I got the error message after upgrading to Jomsocial 4.4.1.

Kunena a JS Groups is a plugin developed by Kunena Team and it outdated/deprecated: prntscr.com/gfaz34
It should be removed.

I enabled Kunena and it works: prntscr.com/gfazut

I can't see 500 error.

Please after login try go to "Min profil" -> "Ret profil".

Then you see the warning still showing up: prnt.sc/gfb27d

The warning shows up in frontend and backend everytime you save after an edit.
