Hi

Will Jomsocial continue to support and issue bug fixes for Jomsocial 3.2.x for a limited time I nce Jomsocial 4 is released?

This is quite standard practice with major new upgrades and software, take Joomla as an example, they allow users time to upgrade to 3.x when initial bugs have been ironed out as 2.5.x support has only just ended.

This is even more relevant for Jomsocial considering many 3rd party plugins, extension and template updates may not be available for JS4 for a period of time.

I remember when Jomsocial 3 was released anybody still using 2.8.x who had an issue was simply advised to upgrade to Jomsocial 3, I found that disappointing.

Hi, Alan.

We'll release the last update for JomSocial 3.2 (3.2.1.6) before JomSocial 4.0 will be available. 4.0 will be tested against all issues and bugs reported for previous versions. Technical support for JomSocial 3.2 will be continued but probably no patches (quick fix releases) will be released further. So when bug will be reported for JomSocial 3.2.1.6 we also test it for JomSocial 4.0. If bug is fixed in latest version than only option will be to upgrade as no separated patch will be provided.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
