JomSocial Active

With a new installation of both Joomla 3.3 and JomSocial (via the installer) I have the following error when trying to reach the JomSocial "Home":

1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'GROUP BY `groupid`' at line 1 SQL=SELECT `groupid` FROM `gvuja_community_groups_members` WHERE `approved` = 1 AND `memberid` = GROUP BY `groupid`

I've attempted a fresh install of JomSocial without success. The backend appears to be working well.
