Disable Friend Updates from Timeline

I would like to limit timeline info to only relevant and interesting items such as status updates and new compelling content.

Seeing XXXX Member is friends with XXXXX Member is not interesting and only causes spam on the timeline.

How can i disable this from showing on all timelines?

Also just a suggestion about your forum...requiring people to add admin username and password for simple questions that dont require you to log into our site only makes it take longer to post here. It would be nice to see this as an option rather than a requirement.

Hi, Troy Thomas.

You can stop displaying certain messages on stream by disabling points rules that correspond certain activities. For instance, in order to hide "XXXX Member is friends with XXXXX Member" activity disable: "Friend Request Is Approved" rule in

Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Configuration -> User points.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Is there a way to disable it while still being able to apply points to that activity?

We would like to track these as points still we just dont want to see it in the timeline.
