Upon installing jomsocial on joomla 3 on AWS T1 server, i get the following error and
I am sorry, but your server did not meet the minimum requirement to install JomSocial
specifically errors include
Folder writable
--- /administrator/components/com_community/ no
-- /components/com_community/ no
Recommended PHP configuration
-- max_execution_time Min = 300 current = 120
Recommended MySQL configuration
---- connect_timeout Recommended = 120 current = 10
Can you provide instructions of
1- how to configure (within joomla) to make these folders writable
2- how to configure the relevant PHP MySQL settings within terminal
I am not sure the AWS is support with Jomsocial or not, but for safe solution I suggest you contact the AWS support for this one. Ask them to setup your php configuration and setup the folder permissions.
If you new with Jomsocial and just setup your server, I suggest you change your hosting provider, we have the parters for this one
www.jomsocial.com/partners/hosting
, their setting sever already fit with Jomsocial needs
Thanks for your message, but you haven't really answered my question
I am disappointed that JomSocial does not support amazon AWS, the world's biggest cloud platform while Joomla does. For this reason, I will explore other joomla social products.
As it turns out, I figured out how to configure my origional support-question and it seems to be working fine now.
Jomsocial is running under Joomla. if AWS support Joomla, it must no problem with Jomsocial. I think you only need to setting you PHP configuration.
if you using AWS you must know about server administration things. your php configuration loaded from: /opt/bitnami/php/etc/php.ini
edit that file to changing the configuration. and about directory permission that must using chmod command if your sever OS using linux.
if you don't know how to do it, you can ask AWS support.
