I see the jomsocial update alert in the top of my admin page but I wanted to know first:

I have made a number of CSS changes, will they be overwritten?
I have made a number of changes to text in the ,ini files, will they be overwritten as well?

If your hacked code from this folder components/com_community/ and administrator/components/com_community yes it will be overriden

Are the style sheets the same or have they changed?

I mean, if I just keep my style sheets and then replace the new ones with mine, will there be any problems?
e.g are the style names the same in the page code or is it completely re-written?

We changed it, but just minor changes.. for next time if you wanna hack the css file you need to create the template override, so when you upgrade the Jomsocial it wont be replaced then.
