Suggestion: All discussions (menu item) instead Forums (Kunena)

Hello.

Now it's too difficult to find some old discussions - user need to check all groups.

I would suggest to create section (menu item type) that allow to display list of all discussion from all groups (or may be with some exceptions) with page pagination.

Yes, we can create single article (or blank) page, publish "JS Discussions" module on it and display latest *** discussions.

But independent section "Discussions" with pagination and some sortings options (Last; More liked; More replyes; ets / from GroupA, from GroupB... + search field) would be more better.

It can replace Kunena or other extention. If "Discussion" is a "topic", so groups can be positioned like a "forum category". "Group categoryes" can be be positioned like a "Forum Sections".

I suppose, this section should contain:
1. Discussion title
2. Creator name and avatar
3. Latest poster name and avatar
4. Date created
5. Latest post date
6. Count of replies
7. Group title and avatar (it's like "Category at forum")
8. Counts of likes
9. May be something else.

Thanks.

HI, Dmitry.

Thank you for contacting us and your feedback.
I'll pass your suggestions to our developers ;)

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi. Do you plan to discuss this improvement (feature) suggestion for future major release (JS 4.5 or 4.6 may be)? Thanks :)

Temporary I had to create simle "JS Disscussion" module template override (and publish it on independent page) to display few extra info about discussion in forum-like style.

HI, Dmitry.

Hmm, this layout rather won't fix in narrow sidebars.
It will work well in your case where you plan to use it in main area content... but in many cases it is displayed in sidebars.

Yes, I use it main content on page called "Forums" (Discussions) there crimson-land.ru/forum

My suggestion - is to create in future new menu item type to display discussion in similar layout and present it to client as brand new feature (instead of using Kunena) :)
