Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Greetings
I have just gone through the process of upgrading from Joomla 1.5 to 3
I have upgraded JomSocial, using your instructions, first to Jomsocial 2.6.3 on Joomla 2.5 then to 3.2.1.5 on Joomla 3.3.6
I have a couple of problems in the groups area.
The major one is If I try to create a discussion, or two open a discussion that has already been posted, I get the message 500 - /var/www/html/components/com_community/events/groups.trigger.php:101
Also if I click "My Groups" I'm presented a list of all the groups not just my groups.
When you upgrading JomSocial by uninstalling it, menu items in JomSocial toolbar lost "connection" with component. Joomla! mark them as disabled and with notice: "Component 'com_community' does not exist". In order to fix it please follow this instruction:
- click on menu item in JomSocial menu in order to edit it
- when in edit mode don't change anything
- save
- menu item should be fixed
- do it for every JomSocial related menu items (if needed) in all other menus
Make sure that you fix ALL JomSocial related links that way ;)
Then check if both issues persist.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Hi Michal,
Have reset all the menu items, they did need it.
But the 2 problems still exist.
1. The 500 Error and
2. The Group list.
This is currently running in production but I've loaded the installation back on a test server and I notice when the 500 error occurs, I get a PHP error Undefined index: topicid in /var/www/html/components/com_community/router.php on line 146,
regards
Rob
You didn't fix all menu items. The one most important, located in "othermenu" called "Jomsocial" wasn't fixed. So I did it.
Now your issues seems to be fixed. I accessed nad created discussion without issues:
australiancaravanclub.com.au/index.php/j...n/73-test?groupid=42
Also clicking groups displays "My groups".
Please, confirm.
