Adding yearly repeat and extend the range of nearby event?

Hello,
I would like to add a yearly repeat, and move the limit of nearby beyond 50km.
Huw do I manage that, without messing up everything.

This require core files to hack.
We don't provide core files hacks as some core hacks could not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported.

Thats Ok, was hoping for a 'non-core hack' solution.
I really hate core hacks. As times goes by you (most probably) forget where/what you did.
