As with most of the other JomSocial plug-ins that this company has put out, this one does work with Joomla 1.6+

This is just what I was looking for as our site really needed to promote the featured videos on the homepage. The module also will display the "newest" video too. I needed some help with a small bug, and had immediate response from the developer who updated the module file, literally within minutes. I downloaded the new version, reinstalled, and the problem was resolved.
