Zap Calendar is quite possibly the most advanced calendar application available for Joomla today. It is designed to meet demanding calendar needs which can not be met by any other product. Features include:
Extensive iCal Support - Zap Calendar was written from the ground up to fully support the iCal standard (iCal is the standard format for transferring calendar events between applications). Zap Calendar provides full import, export and synchronization of calendar events to and from external sources. Using a calendar program such as Outlook, Thunderbird or Google Calendar, downloading or uploading a single event or an entire calendar with 1,000's of events can be done easily with Zap Calendar. iCal repeating events are also fully supported. Using the iCal subscribe plugin (available in Zap Calendar Pro), you can synchronize events created on remote calendars with Zap Calendar, allowing automatic updating of your calendar when an event changes in a remote calendar.
Plugin Support - Zap Calendar is the first Joomla calendar program that can be extended using Zap Calendar plugins. These plugins provide additional functionality to the calendar, including plugins for searching, weather, captcha, mapping, and social networking features like commenting and RSVP.
Third Party Application Support - Zap Calendar provides support for several popular Joomla extensions, including Community Builder, JomSocial, JomComment , sh404SEF and Z Weather. Zap Calendar also includes a Google Maps plugin, allowing you to show the location of all your events on a map.
AJAX Support - Zap Calendar's calendar view is AJAX enabled, allowing users to browse the calendar by day, week, month or year without ever refreshing the screen page. AJAX support is extended to Zap Calender modules, allowing independent browsing of calendars when multiple calendars are present on a page. AJAX support can also be found in the Comment, RSVP and Google Maps plugins.
Social Networking Support - Your website users can comment and RSVP to events using the provided plugins. In addition, Zap Calendar provides support for Community Builder and JomSocial by displaying a user's profile picture next to their comment or RSVP. When using JomSocial, event activities are posted to JomSocial's wall and JomSocial points are distributed, if enabled. Zap Calendar also allows sharing events on popular social networks like Facebook and Linkedin.
RSS Support - Zap Calendar supports publishing upcoming events in RSS format.
Events By E-Mail - Zap Calendar provides a special RSS mode that allows a weekly e-mail to be sent to subscribers automatically notifying them of the week's upcoming events.
