I don't know how I feel about this. I am a firm believer in 'you get what you pay for'. And my experience with free products is that the applications suck, the updates are few and far between, and you are left holding the bag when the product doesn't work as described. I do realize that you can get VIP subscriber support, but I would rather just pay up front for a better developed product that doesn't require much support. I have been a firm supporter of JomSocial since the first version, and I love the product. I would hate to see it fall by the wayside. - VIPlister

I have a bigger question, why does JomSocial not make the necessary changes to make it easier for the user to use?

Like being able to comment on the main activity page? Update the activity stream when a user comments on a wall post? Move the wall on a users profile to the first item rather the last?

After using it for a year, hopelessly loosing faith in the product. We have 17K registered members on our site, but no one is talking because it is not intuitive.

Jomsocial, stop developing new things and fix the things you already built, please? - Doctortrips

As mentioned in my replies below, official support is only provided for subscribers. In your case, you will be able to receive support for all your 5 domains.
Plus, license holders will use a commercial variant for flowplayer which does not have watermark in them. - fuqaha

Thanks for bringing this up. Official support will be provided for VIP users, on one license per domain basis. VIP users may install in numerous domains, but support is only given for one specific domain.
Regular users will not receive any support, and will use a free version of flowplayer (checkout my other replies below) which has an overlay.
VIP users will be able to download a commercial variant of flowplayer which they can skin to their liking. - fuqaha

sorry, but whats the difference between the VIP subscribers and subscribers? One set pay for updates, one set doesn't??? Thats what you have said at least...

''VIP Subscribers will have ANNUAL access to our latest builds... etc"
"Subscribers will still continue to receive .... regular JomSocial updates"

Sorry, but there is no difference... no point of renewing my license if there are no clear benefits! - Miro Mitov

We are now using odd number for beta versions, and even number for Stable versions. So 1.7.x Beta IS 1.8.x Stable. - fuqaha
