Here are some extra comments about Events, which would improve the Events functionality enormously! 1) I am assuming that if I create a private event and choose 'hide from list' that the event will still appear in the All Events and My Events lists of the people who have been invited......otherwise they won't be able to find the event when they look for it! 2) I'm assuming a Private Event will NOT appear visible ANYWHERE on the site to people who aren't invited. This should include: event cannot be seen on the Activity Stream, nor the Profile of the Event Admin or Profiles of those people who have been invited...... 3) For Group Events, the Group name should be automatically displayed as part of the notification in Activity Stream notifications, Event lists, Event modules and in the Event Details on the Event Page, so people can see which group is inviting them to an event (it isn't currently!). 4) event Owner should have option within the event to send an email to everyone Invited from within the event. Currently they can send to 'participants', but sometimes they want to send a message to everyone they have invite, including those who haven't yet replied. 5) 'Views' of an event should be one user = one unique view......Otherwise the 'Views' go up every time you visit the page yourself! If they were unique views and you have 100 people in your Group and you see '60 views' then you know 60/100 people have actually viewed the Event...it is not very useful to think that more people have viewed your event than have actually viewed it! 6) Event Admin should be able to see a list of those 'Not Attending' (Magic Mike has already prepared this hack!). 7) if you Create an Event outside a Group, when you go to 'Send Invites', as well as seeing a list of your Friends you should see all your own Groups listed as well, so that you can easily tick a whole Group and invite them to your event as well as your friends. eg If I have a party I might want to invite everyone from Two groups I am in actually, as well as some friends on the site who aren't in those groups. At the moment you can't invite both Group Members and a group of friends. 8) Please make group events appear in All Events, My Events and Pending Invitations by default (or give Group Owner the choice of this). When you say no it would remain on in All Events. Our users find it annoying that if they are invited to an Event in their Group (private or not), that the 'invitation' doesn't appear in My Events, All Events or Pending Invitations like a non-group invitation would. They look for the Event and can't find it. If you only have a few Events in a group then people would prefer for invitations to behave like a personal invitation and go straight into My Events etc. Invitations to Events and Group Events should be treated in the same way to avoid confusion. Take an example - I have had an invitation to a Group Event that has come into my email as a notification and I have viewed it but don't reply for a while. At a later date I am on the website and decide to reply. The event is no longer in my Activity Stream. I can't find it anywhere as it isn't in All Events or My Events!! It is better if the Event goes into the lists. Then if I say no it can disappear from the My Events list............. 9) Group Events in private groups I am in should also show in Events Modules and in my own All Events, My events and Pending Invitations AS SOON AS the Event is created.
