We are honored to be part of the Joomla ecosystem, a shining beacon of light in mostly disorganized domain of Content Management Systems. All good criteria people most associate in a good system is there, speed, reliability, security, extensibility and community.
Community is the keyword. While some other open source management systems may boast some of the criteria, little actually have a well-organized and strong community behind it. The Joomla ecosystem is a robust network of code contributors, extension developers, users, and template developers who have colored and shaped this once a reborn of Mambo CMS into a now highly successful and most used CMS on the planet. Joomla, we love you!

Ok, remember when I said J2XML seems to be the cleanest? Well, SP Upgrade on the other hand seems to be the easiest. I was first reluctant to try this migrator given its cost (Euro 25), even more so when I notice how tiny the migrator is. At 13kb, it is certainly the smallest migrator, and component that I have ever encountered! Boy I was fooled. It packs a punch for its size. If you are willing to spend a bit, this migrator is certainly the one.

Since the release of JomSocial 1.2, we have decided to officially drop the support for PHP4. Just for your information, PHP has already announced it's end of life for PHP4 and it will no longer be supported since 31/12/2007 .

If you are getting an error 'operation aborted' in Internet Explorer when viewing the videos page, this is most likely caused by the use of 'domready' in Joomla's tooltip library. The only quick work around right now is to edit the file JOOMLA/libraries/joomla/html/html/behavior.php and at line 109, look for the following block of codes,
$tooltipInit = ' window.addEvent('domready', function(){ var JTooltips = new Tips($$(''.$selector.''), '.$options.'); });';

I was pretty bored over the weekends as internet connectivity at my home was cut off !@#!@#$%#$ . I've made a small little content plugin for Joomla which will allow newly created articles to add an activity into existing JomSocial's activities.
To download it, head on to http://www.jomsocial.com/webforum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4693&start=0

Azrul tweeted this earlier today, but in case you didn't see it, I thought I would share with you what cmscritic.com had to say about JomSocial, after naming it one of their Top Ten Favourite Joomla Components:
#1 JomSocial
"JomSocial is an excellent addon reminiscent of Community Builder in that it provides some very cool add on functionality that turns Joomla! into a more social environment. JomSocial has quite a few options and we find it a bit more attractive in that it seems to blend well into the system and provide for a more attractive look."
