Some of the new features

Hi, I am Alex Yap from Jomsocial.com / Azrul.com . I am a system developer and most of my work revolves around application and module development. I am in charge of most of the API / triggers that you see around the codes. If there are any triggers / plugins / applications that you think needs to be added in JomSocial, feel free to let me know.

Apart from this, I am also posting some new features which we have added recently into JomSocial.

Members filter that allows user to filter against the 'Newest' , 'Active' and 'Popular' members.

This is the profile activity stream and if you do notice the top right pane, there is actually additional 2 new links which allows you to filter the activities that gets displayed.

Apart from basic / normal /boring filtering, these filterings are actually done through AJAX and very interactive!

These filtering can also be called by 3rd party and I will be writing about this in the documentations very shortly.

=)

Alex,

I have many clients who want to add a 'Save to Favorites' button within certain articles, and have them display as a list format within Jomsocial..
This would be a great additional and if it doesn't make it's way into native code we'll definitely be developing a plugin that does this.

Can you make a better way to ad email adresse, when user need to invite friends to the community.

I will sugest it is first priority, because you dont want to write email adresse manuel, I think there is a component or modul on joomla.com that can ad all you email adresse from your, msn, yahoo, outlook with a simple click on a buttom.

I am considering buying JoomSocial and wondering if there are any possibility of taking a Twitterfeed and use it as status messages? It has to be filtered so no @ messages go to the status message.

Hi mate. I desperately need something for my site so that my members can
chose whether to have all friend requests automatically approved or not. I will pay if you can have something soon.

I'd like to see the JomSocial menubar deconstructed into plugins so that parts can be integrated into Joomla's navigation and the JomSocial navbar eliminated. That is, in addition to linking to applications, friends, etc., I should be able to link to My Profile, Inbox, etc.

Anthony Morris did a much simpler and easy to understand layout of JomSocial for his family site, morrisfamilyonline.com, by eliminating the Jomsocial-navigation-inside-Joomla-navigation layout. Unfortunately, it required so much customizing that the abandoned it in favor of a Ning site.

Hi Alex,

could you please add the ajax feature to modules too? Take a look @ buddypress. It's cool!

Also, please, add RSS feeds for activities! That would be useful to add rss to widgets and to non-joomla pages!
Thanks

I like Michael Schmidt's idea. To load members with uploaded avatars first would be great. This way we don't have a bunch of generic default avatars loading up first and making the site look inactive.

I am going to be running a photography community. It would be great to have a section in the Photo section for a default "Favorites" album. That way when users are browsing around others photos, they can click "Add as a Fav" and the link to that photo would be stored and displayed in the users "Favorites" album. Reference Flickr for similar idea. Also a way to Flag content as Inappropriate. This would pertain to all media and content really. Backend options to set limits on number of Flags before the media is automatically removed or admin is notified etc.. If these are already plans or already included, please disregard. Waiting for 1.1 before I make the plunge. Thanks! Lookin good so far.
