We love it when more and more of our third party developers extend their hands out to users on how to enhance their JomSocial powered communities. And we are particularly honored that Social Code is one of our respected developer for making JomSocial complete.

Latest in their stables, Social Code has just released their newest JomSocial addon - Activity Stream Comments and Likes feature.

This is a great addon that allows users to add a comment on a particular activity stream. Users can also 'Like'  an activity in the activity stream on Jomsocial frontpage and profile pages, just like in Facebook. People who are used to this feature in the popular social networking site is  now available for JomSocial powered communities! 

Site administrators can continue to monitor the activity stream and this time, they will be much busier as admins have control over inappropriate comments by users. Admins can delete these posts as they wish.

If you wonder how it works for your social site, this addon patches any current JomSocial template with a simple touch of a button. If you are using themes or templates from unofficial JomSocial template providers, Social Code was thoughtful enough to provide you with the guides to fix template problems.

JomSocial continuously adding new feature to our core component. However, 3rd party addon might provide additional functionality much earlier than we could. This does not mean that any functionality provided by addons will never make it to the core feature. Many actually did.

It is merely an option and jomsocial will only grow as we go..

I will constantly monitor changes and provide patches for newest versions whenever a beta is available for jomsocial.

the worse part is that most of them are feature patches. So having to carefully update all the patches and keep track of them after each JS update is a real pain.

Social Code did an awesome job on this addition to JomSocial.

I just don't understand why its third party developers that are creating the features that should have been a part of the fundamental JomSocial package.
