It has come to our attention that some JomSocial users have been receiving emails from a solicitor seeking validation of their JomSocial license. We would like to assure you that we do not engage any solicitor to perform such validation and we believe this is a phishing attempt. There is no security breach that might have exposed your data or privacy. Your purchase data is safely protected by Plimus.com

As always, exercise extreme cautious when someone is asking for money via email. If you are a paid customer, please ignore the email. If you are currently using an unlicensed copy, we would appreciate it if you could send the payment to us, instead of those bogus lawyer.

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We are investigating this further and in the meantime, you can safely ignore such email and continue using JomSocial on your sites. We would appreciate if you could also report such doubtful emails to abuse@jomsocial.com . Until the technology that allow us to block email sent to you is available, please be careful with all the emails that you received.

Stay safe... online.

If there was no security breach, then how did they get the mail addresses for sending the phishing mails?
