JomSocial 2.4.3, the last of JomSocial 2.4 series

While we have been kept busy since the past couple of months with development of JomSocial 2.6, updates and bugfixes for JomSocial 2.4 branch are still being added on daily basis. If you are a follower of our development tweets, you will realize that some important updates have been merged into JomSocial 2.4 branch recently.

As outlined in our earlier JomSocial 2.6 blog, we have updated our jQuery library to be compatible with numerous template providers and extensions out there. The new library will resolve all reported jQuery clashes with Yootheme Warp templates, Zoo Content Construction Kit, WidgetKit publishing tools, and recently we have discovered it also fixes some javascript issues with the clean and good looking Joomla Bamboo templates.

The release of JomSocial 2.4.3 marks the ending of JomSocial 2.4 branch. It contains over 60 bugfixes, a couple of enhancements and compatibility updates, and one performance enhancement. Long-time users of JomSocial will realize a significant progress has been made in term of stability of each version of JomSocial.

Gone are the days of over a dozen updates for a single branch; JomSocial 1.8 saw 11 updates, 2.0 had 6 updates, 2.2 had 5 updates, and  JomSocial 2.4 having only 3 version updates in a single branch. We would like to keep this trend going in JomSocial 2.6. The first Alpha release of JomSocial 2.6 was made available three months ago, early in the year 2012. Since then, we have released 8 iterations of JomSocial 2.6 Alpha, Beta and RCs for public scrutiny and comments.
