I want to talk about 1 particular trigger point that we added to JomSocial 1.6, that is so simple, yet massively powerful.

We are talking about "onBeforeControllerCreate" trigger point. This trigger allows any plugins to override the controller object creation with any other object type. With every copy of JomSocial sold, we provide access to the download area for another 12 months. This allows you to download any new future updates, major or minor, completely free.

So, what happen after 12 months? With many other Joomla! components that use 'subscription' model, you actually end up paying the same amount yearly. In JomSocial however, you can simply renew your download access to the latest build for a much cheaper fee.

We have been working on a new addon which will allow site administrators to easily upgrade without having the pain of making backups and searching for codes they have added / changed.
