Some updates on JomSocial plugins and API
Posted by: azrul on Oct 8, 2008
We have started significant amount of work on JomSocial plugins. Our top priority, is of course to get the API right, just right. When developing API, our philosophy is simple. Yes, 'simple' . For the initial release, our API will be very lean, yet usable. Although, we could potentially load up JomSocial with tons and tons of system "hooks", I will only open a few key ones, and will use feedbacks from 3rd party developer to determine which other events that they need to use.
Of course, having our code super clean, with an extremely clean MVC implementation means developer can directly request various objects and data easily.
So, what plugin is available now ?. I would love to have huge number of plugins available on release, but at the moment, we will focus on the most requested plugins first. Among others, Fireboard, Seyret video, EventList, AllVideo, Twitter and RSS feed system has been coded and is up and running. We are adding new plugin almost on a daily basis now. If you are already on our test site, please join the forum at http://forum.azrul.com and let us know what other component integration you need.
For developer, we will publish a plugin guide along with sample code and some tutorials soon. If you are interested in developing JomSocial plugin, do email us at support@azrul.com and your input would help shape our API.

I am working on community + Video sharing website. I am using the Jomsocial for community and Jomtube for videos. Now I have to integrate the Jomsocial with the ?Jomtube.that means the videos that are uploaded using the Jomtube should be displayed in the latest video section of the Jomtube. I heard that there is a plugin available , but where I can find it..Please help me
I hope beta testers are getting a 50% off code to spread the love throughout the Joomla community...
...and here's hoping for a phpbb3 plugin.

Hi Azrul Team... This component keeps getting better and better! I'm getting very excited about this! Any idea of how soon we can expect to get our hands on it?
Hey Cory,
I am really sorry but I can't provide any time frame on the release but I personally would expect it to be very soon once we tidy it up a little
Nevertheless, it would be up to my chief's call
